37.0 Hours per Week

Based at Coppice Way in Chelmsley Wood, North Solihull, you will be part of an integrated Housing and Communities Team providing help and financial support to our tenants and customers to maximise their income, provide help and assistance with affordability, income and expenditure and welfare benefits. You will be able to demonstrate a customer focused approach conducting ‘face to face’ interviews predominantly with customers at risk of homelessness and supporting them financially through moves into temporary accommodation.

You will also be able to participate in Money Advice initiatives and projects as directed by the Money Advice Team Leader which will include local benefit take up campaigns, local surgeries and contribute to pilot projects.

Candidates should have the ability to work effectively with clients to resolve problems, experience of dealing with those with vulnerabilities and additional support needs. You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal confidently and tactfully with all customers, colleagues, partners and members.

Applicants should have a good knowledge and understanding of money advice, budgeting, welfare benefits and debt advice.

We are an Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up in April 2004 to run the housing service on behalf of Solihull Council. The Council still owns the properties and is the landlord. But housing services are delivered by us.

We are run by a management board made up of four tenants, four councillors and four independent people chosen for their specialist skills and experience.
