We are looking for Social Workers who are enthusiastic and passionate about changing the lives of people with care and support needs, and carers, through the promotion of wellbeing and choice, making a real difference and enabling them to increase their independence and have fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse.

 

You would be joining Solihull at an exciting time as the Council changes the way in which it delivers its services, and we work in a more agile way and as a Social Worker in Solihull you will benefit from manageable caseloads, an inclusive and supportive team culture and great scope for professional development.

 

We are currently recruiting to two permanent qualified Social Worker posts as follows:

 

    Peripatetic Social Worker (32 hours): Initially based at the Bluebell Centre, Chelmsley Wood, this team works across all adult social care teams in accordance with priorities and demand. This is an exciting role for someone who likes a change and a challenge.

 

    One Front Door Social Worker (37 hours): Based at the Bluebell Centre, Chelmsley Wood, this is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and vibrant duty team. We offer a response to all Adults in Solihull who need Social Work Support. You must enjoy a fast paced working environment and have a sound working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding.

To be successful in either of these roles you will have:-

 

    A professional Social Work qualification and be HCPC registered or be in your final year of qualifying; Sound knowledge of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation; Experience of care management for adults; Experience of assessment, the development and planning of care and of risk management; Effective communication skills and experience of collaborative working to build effective working relationship.
