Job Details

The role of Employment Link Officer will deal directly with local employers to build relationships and directly advise and assist them with all employment issues. A key focus will be on securing opportunities for young people in schools and just out of schools to place in businesses.

This position will build specific relationships with businesses that will benefit all the services offered by Economy and Community. You will be expected to arrange job interview guarantees and specific training for customers of the job shop. The post will contribute to increased local and youth employment.

Key roles will be: 

  • Support and develop links with a range of local organisations helping both employers and job seekers.
  • Act as Link for the City Council with nominated employment, skills and business initiatives, and support and monitor the progress of grant-aided work, including ESF projects of all kinds. 
  • Develop and implement new initiatives, with local authority colleagues and others, to promote employment and training opportunities, reduce poverty and to encourage unemployed people to play a more active role in the regeneration of the City.
  • Work with Schools to link them to businesses and opportunities for young people

 

Working Hours

2 posts of 37 hours x  Fixed Term until March 2020 extension being bid for with National Government.

1 post of 22 hours x Fixed Term until December 2019 extension being bid for with National Government
