St Richards CE First School currently has 360 pupils on roll and caters for around 200. The newly created job role of Catering Manager will be responsible for the implementation and management of a new in-house pod style kitchen, which will enable the flexibility of menus, local food sourcing and the ability to offer a meal that pupils will enjoy.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual to lead and manage the development of this new unit together with an existing team. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of a range of creative and innovative menus and be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of practical cooking on a large scale. You will have previous supervisory experience in a similar, hands on role and the emphasis will be on producing home cooked, quality meals using fresh ingredients.
We are looking for someone that has a desire to make a difference to our children, who understands how to foster good eating habits and can make lunchtime an enjoyable experience.
Effective communication skills
Team worker
NVQ Level 3 Preparation 706/1 or 706/2 City and Guilds
Level 3 Food safety certificate
Allergen awareness is desirable, along with knowledge of the Government Food standards for education
Have knowledge of HACCP, Food safety and Health and Safety in a kitchen
You will be required to operate a computer, therefore, computer knowledge is also desirable.
As part of the interview process, you will be expected to undertake a practical assessment within a given timescale and a written task.
