Scale 5£21,589 - £23,836 per annum 37 hours per week1 x Permanent Post1 x Two Year Fixed Term Contract Based at Community Risk Department, Worcester Fire Station, WR4 9GN.Several opportunities have arisen in the Community Risk Department, based at Worcester Fire Station. The successful post holders will support the delivery of HWFRS’s Safe and Well policies by working with people within the community who are at risk of fire in line with the Service’s Community Risk Strategy by delivering Safe and Well Checks across the two counties.Post holders will also be required to contribute to the reduction of the incidence of death and serious injury resulting from fire by delivering Safe and Well Checks and supporting high level preventative services. Further key duties include:Working with key partners to carry out joint visits to adults or persons at risk within the community. Represent the Service by attending case review meetings with key partners at a local level building effective partnership working. Deliver training on all aspects of Safe and Well Checks to Service personnel such as Firefighters and new Community Risk team members as required. The ideal applicant will have a passion for Community Safety, be a good communicator and able to work independently. The candidate must have a clean current driving licence and due to the nature of the post the candidate would be required to undergo a DBS check. Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for providing day-to-day fire and rescue services across the two counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Our stations are staffed by a mix of 'wholetime' firefighters - operating on a full-time basis and providing an immediate response - and ‘on-call’ firefighters who work and live in their local communities and respond to emergency calls whenever they are needed.
There are many interesting career opportunities with us, in Fire Control or one of our non-uniformed specialist support roles as well as being a firefighter.
Non-uniformed staff work in areas including Finance, Community Safety, Training, Human Resources, Information Technology and Workshops.
