About the Trust:

Sandwell Youth Offending Service is seeking to recruit a high quality candidate to join the Management Team in the Youth Offending Service.

Closing Date:  Friday 26th July 2019

Hours: 37 per week

As a Team Manager, the successful candidate will be integral to the successful running of the YOS and have responsibilities which could include any aspect of the YOS delivery areas.  It is therefore important that the person is flexible and understands the need to keep evolving the service to best meet the needs of children, families and victims.

The YOS was recently inspected as a ‘Good’ service by HMIP and we aim to maintain and improve ourselves with engagement and interventions which we are increasingly delivering in more creative ways.   We continually evolve and so as well as a solid understanding of Youth Justice and YOS delivery we seek creativity, enthusiasm and ideas.

For an informal conversation about this role, please contact Michael Botham, Service Manager on 0121 569 2257 or via email to Michael_botham@sandwellchildrenstrust.org

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Have a professional qualification in either managment, social work, probation, policing, teaching, a health discipline or youth & community work;
  • Experience of working in a multi agency Youth Offending/Targeted Youth Support Service;
  •  Leadership qualities and the ability to get people working as a team;
  • Ability to manage staff to achieve agreed objectives and targets and to effectively and consistently manage performance;
  • Willingness to work some unsociable hours.

 An Enhanced DBS is required for this position.

Sandwell Children's Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups including children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We reserve the right to close vacancies before the advertised closing date if a large number of applications have been received. Therefore, it is strongly advised that you complete and return your application as soon as possible.
