The Role
The recently formed Kenilworth Multi-Academy Trust (KMAT) is a growing organisation and is currently made up of two schools, with an expectation to include three further schools by 2023. As a consequence of the newly established KMAT, we are seeking to appoint a Director of Finance and Business Operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, forward-looking professional to establish and develop this new role.
Key Requirements
This is a senior appointment to provide leadership and management of KMAT’s finance and operational functions. We are looking for a forward-looking professional with significant strategic financial expertise, to provide a vision and deliver a high level of service across the KMAT. Ideally you will have a familiarity in education or not for profit financial governance. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Executive Headteacher and KMAT Trustees your key responsibilities will include:
- The development and management of the operation of support services for financial and legal contracts, systems and procedures, ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place.
- A strategic leadership role to advise the Trust and the Executive Headteacher in financial management, regulatory and policy requirements in relation to academies, ensuring best value and quality provision.
- Responsibility for the preparation and monitoring of budgets, cash-flow, annual audit, academy funding, risk management and compliance, procurement contracts and services, governance, premises management, income generation, health and safety, payroll and HR management.
- The ability to operate effectively at the highest level of an organisation, demonstrating strategic thinking and direction, professional authority, leadership and ownership will be the key qualities for the success of this role.
