We are looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to work within our Highway Structures Team.
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Grade 10
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of structural engineering including design, contract document preparation, procurement, and site supervision of bridge, retaining wall and safety fence projects. Additional duties will include checking new designs and proposals from developers as well as carrying out inspections and assessments of existing structures. You will also be involved in the inspection of dangerous structures and taking action to ensure the safety of the public.
You will be able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of current design standards and legislation as well as proficiency in the use computer applications for use in the structures field. You will have the ability to effectively manage workloads and to communicate clearly with fellow officers, councillors, members of the public and other stakeholders.
