One to One Maths Tutor and also Cover Supervisor - Sidney Stringer Multi-Academy Trust

You will be employed by the trust which consists of five schools led by Sidney Stringer Academy. The schools are Radford Primary Academy, Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School), Sidney Stringer Primary Free school and Sidney Stringer Academy.

One-to-one tutor

We are looking to employ a one-to-one maths tutor in order to support our students sitting GCSE qualifications in mathematics. Potential candidates should be a maths undergraduate or graduate who can work one-to one with students. A suitable candidate would be one who is confident but supportive and is able to identify misconceptions in a student’s work and clearly explain how to correct them. The one to one tutorials would mostly be focused on passing GCSE mathematics.

When not providing tuition they will act as a cover supervisor

Cover supervisor

You will provide classroom cover in the event of short-term absence of teaching colleagues. Other duties will include providing in class support, duties and examination invigilation.
This is also an ideal opportunity for graduates who want to gain experience of working in a Academy and also decide if teaching is the career for you. In return you will be well supported, be part of a strong team and where possible there could be opportunities to pursue Teaching with the Academy.

Many of our Cover Supervisor staff go on to qualify as teachers and as Sidney Stringer Academy runs the Coventry SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) you will be in a very strong position to gain a place if you are successful as a Cover Supervisor or one-to-one tutor.

Work Pattern

Required September 2019

32.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 3.30 pm (half an hour lunch)

Term time plus 3 days Teacher training days
