The Shaw Education Trust is a Multi Academy Trust which opened on the 1st October 2014. It is a rapidly expanding Trust and well regarded locally.

We are seeking to appoint.

Residential Support Worker

37 hours per week, term time only (fixed term until July 2020 but may be extended)

Walton Hall Academy

The Academy is located just outside of Eccleshall in a rural setting with extensive grounds and amazing facilities. We are a generic special school catering for the needs of secondary aged students up to 19 years with a range of learning difficulties including Autism; communication; hearing; mobility and learning difficulties. Our students are referred to us from Staffordshire and neighbouring Local Authorities.

We are seeking to appoint a Residential Support Worker to work alongside our highly committed residential staff team. The Residential Provision is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Staff may be required to offer personal care and high level support for up to 17 students each evening. Staff would be expected to work a split shift pattern of 7:30am – 10am and 2:30pm – 9:30pm. You will be expected to cover at least one sleep in per week on a Rota basis. Staff do however finish at 10:30am on Friday mornings and do not return until Monday afternoon.

The post would suit someone with school or residential experience. Applicants ideally will have an NVQ level 3 Children and Young People qualification, working towards it or possess relevant experience.

The salary for this post is Grade 6 – NJC 9 - 15
