Telford Infant School is a 3 form entry Infant school based in the north of Leamington Spa with approximately 270 children on roll and is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and professional Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant to work alongside teachers, colleagues from outside agencies and our SENDCO to support the learning of a child with complex needs and an Education and Health Care Plan on a one to one basis.SEND LEVEL 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT Fixed Term End Date: 17/07/2020Grade: Band H scp. 14 - £9,272 pa (pro rata)Days: Monday – Wednesday (inclusive) Hours: 17 hours 15 mins per week from 8.30am – 12.00noon & 1.15pm – 3.30pm This vacancy is part of a job share role Term Time only Contract: Fixed-Term Contract commencing 1st September 2019 until 17th July 2020or should the SEN child leave the school before this date, you will be given the required notice.The successful candidate will be dedicated to improving outcomes for a year one child and providing support for the family and other professionals. The person will provide support for both the learning and social/emotional needs of the child and deliver interventions and therapeutic 1:1 opportunities. Experience in recently working within an educational setting, managing challenging behaviour and SEND is essential.· Strong moral purpose for understanding the importance of equality and inclusion of vulnerable children with complex needs.· High level of inter-personal skills and the ability to work constructively as part of a team.· Establish productive and positive working relationships with vulnerable children with complex needs.· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.· Understanding of child protection/safeguarding issues.· A working knowledge of policies and practice relating to vulnerable children with complex needs.· A confident, compassionate and nurturing approach to working with vulnerable children with complex needs.· Resilient and the ability to cope with the emotional demands of working with vulnerable children with complex needs.· Highly organised and the ability to maintain written records of initial assessments and other relevant records.· Self-directed and well organised with the ability to effectively manage time and workload to meet deadlines and use own initiative.· Evidence of commitment to continued professional and personal development.· Good timekeeper, reliable and punctual.· Excellent ICT skills.
