Salary: Pay scale 07HC £24,799 - 28,785 (pro rata)
Hours: 14.8 hours per week (equivalent 2 days)

We are currently expanding our landscape team to contribute to sustainable development and the conservation and enhancement of the county’s landscape more broadly.
Working with other professionals you will be an integral part of a friendly multi-disciplinary Built and Natural Environment team, with a varied and interesting workload.
The main duties will be to:

• Provide landscape planning advice to the Development Management section, including impact assessment, design and policy interpretation, and assisting negotiations with applicants, agents and others.

• Provide landscape-planning advice to the Strategic Delivery section, including policy development and input into site development briefs.

•To assist with the protection of trees and hedgerows, utilising the relevant planning legislation

You should have a degree or vocational qualification to the same standard in Landscape Architecture or related discipline. Some knowledge of planning policy and regulations, particularly relating to trees and hedgerows, would be helpful, but training will be provided as required. Skills in customer service, communication, negotiation and ICT are also required.
The Built and Natural Environment is co-located with Planning Services in a modern suite of offices at Plough Lane, the council’s main hub, allowing excellent communication with other council services.
Options of working from home and/or from the council’s hot desk offices situated in each of the 5 market towns are also available.
