Job Details
We are looking for a pro-active and enthusiastic professional to take a lead on the development and delivery of skills, employment opportunities offering business support for Dudley reflecting emerging local, regional and national economic development priorities including initiatives such as DY5
This exciting new role offers huge potential to deliver our vision about the investment potential for Dudley employers about future skill requirements, income generation, regeneration and economic growth opportunities to ensure Dudley employers are able to compete in a world-class arena for high-quality investment opportunities.
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: Grade 10
The successful candidate will need a strong programme management skills together with a flair for realising the potential of a programme level approach to investment, delivering good practice, managing risk and ensuring a seamless decision making process to achieve positive outcomes and results in line with funding requirements.
You will work closely with officers within Skills and Employment as well as Planning and Regeneration teams and have the ability to communicate and influence experience of advising and liaising with external stakeholders including employers, schools, colleges, training providers, apprenticeship providers to co-ordinate and develop the Council's offer for skills, employment and business opportunities.
To be successful in the role, you will be a skilled motivator and communicator and have:
- A relevant degree or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge through extended experience and training. A successful track record of managing and delivering successful employment projects. Experience of engaging and working with adults to provide appropriate advice and information about career and employment options. Experience of being target driven and delivering consistently high levels of performance. A sound knowledge and understanding of the local labour market, funding programmes and initiatives and the opportunities available to clients.

Fixed term contract until December 2021 (potential to review, post is subject to external funding availability)
