LA Clerk to Governors
About us: Warwickshire Governor Services runs a clerking service for schools. We wish to recruit additional clerks to deliver a high quality service to more schools. Main duties are: Providing advice on governance, constitutional and procedural matters; ensuring the governing body is properly constituted; You will need excellent administrative, IT, and communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines and flexibility to work at times convenient to the governing body, typically early evening. Clerks will be employed by WCC, but will usually be allocated to specific schools. At least two governing bodies for a minimum of 60 hours a year per school clerked. We are looking for someone who: Has a good standard of literacy and numeracy and ability to produce high quality minutes: are computer literate and has access to equipment for working from home.Be an efficient administrator, able to use initiative and able to work under pressure including meeting deadlines. Someone who can research and manage advice from a variety of sources, support volunteers and lay people in a professional way and is able to communicate in person and in writing. Understands the importance of confidentiality and integrity and is willing to work in the evenings Will undertake CPD and an accreditation programme Key requirements: Day to day accountability is to the governing body. Clerks are expected to take on at pay (inc holiday enhancement) is GBP 11.30 ph.
