Salary:  Grade 10 £36,153- £39,961 per annum (pro rata)

 Permanent Post 37 hr full -time (Job Share will be considered 22.5 hr ) Previous applicants need not apply

Do you fancy something a little bit different? Are you looking for a challenge?

This is a part-time job share role, providing leadership, management, supervision and support to a busy but small team sourcing a variety of placements for Looked After Children.

The role involves having oversight of all of the placement made in the team, offering support and guidance to the Placement Officers and close liaison with Social Workers, Team Managers and County Managers.

You will also hold a small caseload of the more complex cases and provide cover in the absence of Placement Officers.

You will have a critical role in assist Placement Officers with the challenges that arise including availability of suitable placement, creative thinking and problem solving.

The role is also critical regarding placement sufficiency and has a significant role in liaising with foster team to find creative solution to challenges young people present in identifying placement alongside identification of future needs of the service to aid recruitment.

The role also provides an advisory role to senior managers in relation to children accommodated and reviewing placement costs.

Experience of supporting, managing and supervising staff is essential to the role, good communication skills are vital, keeping accurate records and computer literacy is also of high importance.

You must be social work qualified, registered with HCPC, leadership and management of a small team and experience with fostering or residential services.
