Administrative Support Assistant

Worcestershire Children First is the new company responsible for delivering services to children and young people across Worcestershire. From 1st October 2019, Worcestershire Children First will deliver Children’s Services on behalf of Worcestershire County Council. These services will include Children’s Social Care, Education, Early Help and Fostering.

Worcestershire Children First are building a new Edge of Care Service called “Supporting Families First”. We are looking for candidates who will keep relentless focus on positive outcomes for our children and young people. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, all working together to help families to stay together. We are developing confident and dynamic practitioners to work collaboratively in a strengths-based approach with families to enable lasting and positive change for young people and families.

The service will be led by an experienced Practice Manager and will be made up of outreach workers, youth mentors, a money mentor, substance misuse workers, emotional health & well-being workers, advanced social work practitioners, a psychological lead and supported by dedicated administration staff.  We will provide you with peer and management support alongside individual and group reflective supervisions to support you in the role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new service, working collaboratively with young people, parents and extended family members, using the Signs of Safety practice model, to find out what works well within the family and use existing strengths to help families to find their own solutions.

All roles are full time (35 hours per week) permanent posts. All roles will have a base with county-wide travel required.

You will support a locality based team, young people and their families by providing excellent administrative support.  You will be super organised and be able to use a range of software packages including Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.

You will need to have the ability to recognise, acknowledge and have regard to confidential and sensitive matters including Child Protection. A polite, efficient manner particularly when working under pressure and in circumstance where interruption may be common place is also essential.

You will be part of a supportive team who will help you to develop and thrive in this essential role.
