Dudley MBC is a Community Council rich in history and is very focused on regeneration and reinvesting itself to meet challenges of the future, forming part of the West Midlands Combined Authority. Legal Services continues to be accredited to Lexcel, the Law Society’s standard for excellence in Legal Practice Management and Client Care.
The Council requires a qualified Solicitor/Barrister with experience in Employment/Equal Pay Law. Must be able to work independently and as part of a much wider team, working cross-directorate and with external bodies. Experience in local government is essential together with good communication skills and the ability to manage large caseload.
Hours: 37 hours per week although Part Time will be considered Temporary Fixed Term Maternity Cover for 9 months
Salary: Grade 11
Location: 4 Ednam Road, Dudley, DY1 1HW
We require an experienced Employment Solicitor/Barrister to provide maternity cover on a fixed term temporary basis.
The successful candidate will, amongst other things, deal with employment law matters, manage caseloads, prepare court bundles and settlement agreements and provide legal advice to the Council’s officers and Elected Members.
This post holder will be able to work within the Council's Flexible Working Policy, subject to the business needs of the Council being fulfilled.
