APPOINTMENT OF TEACHING ASSISTANT GRADE 1

One Year Fixed Term Contract from  September 2019 – 31st August 2020

SALARY:  £8623 - £9114 per annum

POST 1 - 20 HOURS PER WEEK, TERM TIME ONLY. (MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY 10-2, THURSDAY 10-3, FRIDAY 11.30-2.30)

POST 2 - 20 HOURS PER WEEK, TERM TIME ONLY (MONDAY-FRIDAY 12-4)

Chadsgrove Educational Trust Learning Centre is a Further Education College for students aged 19-25 with Special Educational Needs including physical difficulties.  In addition, there are some students that have more complex needs and/or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

From September 2019 we will have 10 students on role and alongside teaching staff, we will have 4 Teaching Assistants working in the Centre.  The role of a Teaching Assistant is varied, but consists of supporting teaching activities, lunchtime support and assisting with the changing and personal care requirements of some of the students.  The work can often involve manual handling of students and potential candidates need to be physically fit and capable of working co-operatively within a multi-disciplinary team to support the physical care that some of our students require.  It is essential that candidates are adaptable with a good sense of humour and have an ability to empathise and work positively with the students’ individual needs.

Previous experience of working with adults/children who have a physical disability would be an advantage but it is not essential, as training will be given.

Chadsgrove Educational Trust is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of young adults.  All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

The closing date for applications is:  30th August 2019

Interviews will be held on: 6th September 2019
