The Role

37.0 Hours per Week

You will work under the direction of the Student Support & Engagement Lead, providing first line support to students on social and emotional issues. This will include: - 

  • investigating events that occur between students 
  • operating a restorative approach towards breakdowns in student relationships 
  • working with groups of students to deliver intervention programs in areas such as self-esteem, anger management and social skills 
  • promoting students’ positive wellbeing and mental health in liaison with other colleagues

You will also be instrumental in working with ‘difficult to reach’ pupils and required to be flexible in delivering interventions that meet their specific needs.

You will contribute towards ‘keeping children safe’ in the context of social media, and be able to support the delivery of effective information and guidance sessions to both pupils and parents. You need to be proactive and innovative, with a proven track record of effective communication across all age groups. You also need to prove sound, effective, dynamic decision-making to provide advice, guidance and support in ever changing situations.
