SEND Casework Administration Officer

Are you a highly organised and methodical individual with substantial experience using Microsoft Office?

 

Following a restructure that will enable the SEND Service to enhance and improve its' service to parents and carers and to schools and other settings, we have vacancies for experienced administrators.

 

35hrs a week

 

Salary: £17,779 - £18,135

The SEND Service carries out the Local Authority's statutory responsibilities to:

  • Manage the statutory SEND system for EHC assessment
  • Preparing and issuing EHC Plans
  • Determining educational placement and support, and
  • Monitoring arrangements and provision for individual children and young people with EHC Plans

The current team has responsibility for the administration of all aspects of the Education, Health and Care needs assessment process.

The posts are permanent but there is also a temporary 6 month maternity cover position should this suit you better.


Do you have?

Experience of working in an administrative role within an environment that requires flexibility and good team work.

The ability to prioritise and plan your workload in accordance with deadlines in ever changing circumstances.

Experience of using technology for data recording and extraction and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Experience of other software packages is an advantage.

Experience of dealing with high volumes of telephone enquiries where the caller may be anxious or concerned.

Understanding of perspectives of parents and providers in relation to children and young people.

Some knowledge of the scope of activity undertaken by Children's Services would be helpful.

Awareness of the SEND Code of Practice.
