Substantive Vacancy – Partnership & Intervention Coordinator – Central Prevent & ProtectA vacancy exists for the position of Partnership & Intervention Coordinator within our Central Prevent & Protect team. We require high calibre candidates who are able to demonstrate a willingness to lead on and deliver activities, and to build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.Salary: Grade 5 (£21,589 - £23,836) Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible working scheme in operation)

The primary function of this role will be to lead on a variety of tasks including training in the areas of Prevention, Olive Branch, Road Safety, and associated project trials and implementation. This role will create strong working relationships with the Prevention Delivery Leads, operational staff, and Community Safety Officer’s in order to enhance the delivery of Service-wide prevention work.

Main Tasks:•Lead on all Children and Young People intervention programmes, including diversionary activities, cadets, fire-setting interventions, and arson reduction activities in order to assist the Service Delivery Groups.•Effectively maintain relationships/partnerships with other stakeholders (internal and external) at local and regional levels to improve knowledge, share good practice, identify possible funding sources and develop programmes or initiatives to reduce the risk of fire and influence overall improvements in safety in Staffordshire.•Use an intelligence-led approach to ensure prevention strategies are in line with the reduction of the demand entering SFRS, in respect of fire and other emergencies.•Liaise with Business Intelligence Team (BIT) to evaluate performance and drive activity.•Ensure that all contact with the public and external organisations is undertaken in a professional manner, within specified response times.•Act as Coordinator between Central Prevent & Protect and local areas.See full Job description for details.

Essential Criteria:•Experience of work in a range of prevention intervention activities •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), in order to interact effectively with internal & external stakeholders and partners •Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook•Ability to work effectively alone or amongst colleagues •Ability to work accurately within time constraints & meet deadlines •Ability to process new information quickly•Ability to influence colleagues and partners•Excellent presentation skills, and the ability to present appropriately to groups of all sizes and levels•Assume responsibility for decisions made and ability to communicate this to others •Attention to detail in all aspects of the role•Good problem solving skills•Open to new ideas, and to sharing thoughts and opinions •Full driving license and provision of a vehicle for business use with the appropriate insuranceDesirable Criteria:•A good knowledge of education programmes and intervention initiatives•Experience of working with vulnerable groups

This vacancy is open to internal and external applicants.There will be a requirement to work regular weekends to support Youth work activities.
