Southern Service Delivery Group - StaffordshireSalary: Grade 5 (£21,589 to £23,836)Hours: 37 hours (flexible working scheme in operation)

To support and assist in the implementation of Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Services Protect Strategy, and to support the delivery of the corporate objectives within the Services Corporate Safety Plan. To support the delivery of the SFRS fire safety arrangements within the Service Delivery Group.

Main tasks include:•Contribute to the development of Delivery Group action plans highlighting where protection activities and priorities, related to the role, can be addressed in the planning process.•Deal with requests from the public and partner organisations in order to provide technical advice, guidance, and support on relevant statutory and regulatory requirements and standards, in order to minimise fire risks and hazards.•Evaluate, assess, and advise on fire risks and hazards in order to minimise or eliminate risk, by applying the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order and other relevant Legislation. Report on findings, and develop recommendations, to address and resolve any identified deficiencies in order to minimise fire risks and hazards.•Undertake inspections of commercial premises, in line with the SFRS post-fire policy•Collate relevant information, and support in compiling written evidence case files, for potential prosecutions to ensure the enforcement of Fire Safety legislationSee full Job description for details.

Essential Criteria•Fire Safety Qualification or knowledge•Excellent communication & interpersonal skills•Excellent report writing skills•Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads•A current UK Full Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance coverDesirable Criteria•Experience of working effectively with partners•Experience of determining solutions to hazards and risks through audit & investigation•Experience of evaluating fire safety design submissions•Experience of producing structured reports•Experience of producing and evaluating risk assessments•Presentation skills
