Staffordshire has a strong commitment to providing quality foster placements for our children in care. We are also committed to on-going development and innovation.

The Fostering South Team provides support and supervision to foster carers residing in the south of Staffordshire. The fostering south team is a very stable team which has the benefit of experienced team members. Your duties will include undertaking regular supervision, support and unannounced visits to a variety of approved foster carers. This will include task centred, long term and family and friends’ carers. You will also undertake fostering assessments in relation to changes of approval, long term fostering assessments and foster carers annual reviews.

The service has a commitment to the stability of placements, safeguarding children in placement and promoting capacity to provide sufficient placements to meet the needs of our looked after children. You will support these commitments in your role. Close liaison is maintained with the Children’s Teams and others involved in the team around fostered children to ensure good outcomes for children.

You must be a qualified Social Worker with previous experience of children’s social work with children/or foster carers. Newley qualified social workers with a high potential are also encouraged to apply.
