The Adult Care and Support finance team has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Technician / Senior Accounting Technician to join our hardworking, friendly and supportive team based in the Council House, Solihull Town Centre.
This varied role is ideal for anybody wishing to advance their career, as we will support you in your studies and professional development, with clear milestones for progression within the role.
The team supports the Adult Care & Support Directorate, providing financial advice and assistance to both internal and external customers on a daily basis.
You will be working across a number of different areas within the Directorate, including:
Supporting budget managers
Reconciling financial data
Taking responsibility for the teams’ e-mail inbox including checking and processing journals and budget adjustments, liaising with colleagues to resolve queries as appropriate
Providing general administrative support for the team
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated individual, who is AAT part or fully qualified, has experience of working in a professional finance environment and using financial systems, and has effective organisational and communication skills.
You will have:
- GCSEs Maths and English Language A-C or 4-9 (or equivalent level 2 qualification)
- AAT Accounting Qualification to Level 2 (or equivalent).
- Experience of using databases, finance software and various Microsoft packages, including Excel (or equivalent) ideally at an advanced level.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce timely and accurate work.
