Do you hold a BTEC Higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent in the same field OR proven experience of working in a flood risk and drainage environment?

We are looking for an experienced Sustainable Drainage and Infrastructure Drainage Engineer to join the City Council’s Development Management team. You will provide expert advice on the management of surface water flood risk and water quality management in response to consultation referrals from the Councils Planning team. You will also assist the with the Council meeting its responsibilities as the Lead Local Flood Authority.

Good working knowledge, understanding and experience of surface water flood risk management, sustainable drainage techniques, flood risk assessments and drainage construction is essential. A good understanding and knowledge of flood risk mapping and GIS based systems is also essential.

The post holder will have:

BTEC Higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent in the same field OR proven experience of working in a flood risk and drainage environment. Knowledge of drainage engineering and the management and maintenance of drainage networks Knowledge of design, detailing, and preparation of drainage schemes, including inspection of drainage construction schemes. Good verbal and written communication skills and a structured approach to record keeping.
