To be responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance and effective delivery of the procurement needs in support of Solihull Community Housing’s (SCH) Business/Delivery Plan, Procurement and Asset Management Strategy.

To provide strategic input and support to the Executive Director Assets and Development in delivering improvements in efficiency; meeting performance targets and achieving value for money.

The key requirements Include but are not limited to:

Ensuring that all SCH’s procurement is carried out in compliance with all relevant European and UK legislation, and SCH Standing Orders at all times. Ensure that all new contracts, optional extensions and renewals, where applicable, are awarded within the prescribed time scales and deadlines.

Overseeing the preparation of specifications, contract documents, tender documents and forms of contract. Ensuring that SCH policies in respect of risk management, health and safety and equality of opportunity are incorporated into procurement procedures, and that best practice is observed and monitored at all times.

Taking direct project management of large and complex procurement exercises to ensure that time-scales are achieved and each project is delivered in accordance with the agreed brief. Carrying out complex tender evaluation exercises, where appropriate and necessary, including the analysis of numerous priced items and the qualitative aspects of the submission.

We are seeking a competant well organised procurement professional who posesses the drive and determination to make a difference. An individual who holds the provision of excellent customer service in high regard and understands the importance of procurement and fiscal control.

We are an Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up in April 2004 to run the housing service on behalf of Solihull Council. The Council still owns the properties and is the landlord. But housing services are delivered by us.
