Salary - 43,648 max - Teachers  UPS

Thornbury Centre Birmingham  

Sensory Support, Access to Education provides support to deaf CYPF from birth to 25years, in homes, mainstream schools and settings and colleges.

The role is a peripatetic role for a qualified teacher of the deaf. Teacher of the Deaf competencies are required for this role. Teachers are expected to support deaf CYPF from birth to 25 years in homes, mainstream schools, settings and colleges in Birmingham. The candidate must have experience of working in this role of assessing and teaching deaf children across all age phases. They must also be knowledgeable and skilled in recent developments of pedagogy in deaf education.

Qualified teacher
Qualified Teacher of the Deaf
Experience in assessing and teaching deaf children across all age phases
Teacher must be able to mentor other staff in the team in deaf pedagogy  
Teacher must hold an enhanced DBS

Mandatory Qualifications in teaching deaf children.
Knowledge and skills in audiology
Knowledge of language development and language assessments
Excellent report writing skills
Coaching experience
