Solihull Specialist Inclusion Support Service (SISS) is a high quality, highly valued local service working closely with Solihull’s maintained schools, academies and settings to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and motivated teacher to join our SLCD team who work in partnership with schools, to meet the needs of pupils with difficulties in the areas of Speech, Learning and Communication. The SISS SLCD Team manages two Additionally Resourced Centres (ARCs) in Solihull and has a small outreach team.

We are looking for a teacher to join the team at Bishop Wilson ARC, who can provide an outstanding, differentiated curriculum to meet the needs of the children with SLCD and undertake thorough and regular assessment, using a range of tools, to ensure that ARC pupils are making good progress. The role also supports the school to meet the needs of children with SLCD and promote the inclusion of ARC children within mainstream lessons.

To be successful in this role you will be a qualified teacher with substantial and successful experience of working with and meeting the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs. You will have experience of multi-agency working and have confidence in advising, supporting and making sound judgements on strategies to meet the needs of children.  Highly organised you will be able to demonstrate effective and positive engagement and communication skills to ensure successful relationships are built and maintained with schools and partners.  

You will be based at Bishop Wilson Primary School in Solihull and you will be required to travel around the borough of Solihull supporting the schools and children on your caseload.
