Service Manager Fostering
We are looking for an experienced leader and manager for our Fostering Service in Middlewich who can help us to deliver our vision for children, young people and their families. We want Cheshire East to be a great place to be young where all children are well supported to maximise their life chances; a place where they can thrive in our care, are safe from any harm or abuse, have access to outstanding education and feel prepared for adulthood. To assist us in delivering these aims, we have introduced Signs of Safety as our operational model and a comprehensive programme of training will be available to anyone who is unfamiliar with this approach.
The successful candidate will be someone who can ensure that services provided to our Cared For Children are of high quality, cost effective and meet or exceed national standards and frameworks where applicable. You must be able to work with partner agencies and other local authorities in Foster4 to develop and grow the service in an increasingly competitive fostering market. You will need to be a qualified and HCPC registered social worker with extensive experience of fostering either in a local authority or IFA, permanency planning and Court work, and be a confident decision maker who can provide leadership, support and professional development to the Team Managers, Supervising Social Workers and Family Support Workers who make up the service, and to other colleagues throughout Children’s Social Care. You will also need the emotional intelligence to be able to relate to and support our foster carers in the amazing work that they do.
You will need a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing Cared For Children and their carers, a proven track record of working alongside key partner agencies, be comfortable in handling performance management data and challenge, and have innovative ideas for service delivery and improvement. Above all else, we are looking for someone with passion and resilience who is only interested in achieving the best possible outcomes for the children and young people of Cheshire East.
