Location: Council House, Priory Road, Dudley

Following a service restructure, an exciting new corporate role is now available. The successful candidate will manage a small team delivering a number of key financial transactions services including income management and accounts payable for Dudley MBC and schools. This includes the efficient processing of circa £1 billion of income and creditor payments of £400 million to suppliers.

This is a challenging and varied role which includes responsibility for key financial processes such as card payments, purchase card scheme, supplier payments. Duties include development of financial systems (Unit4 and Civica Icon), policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practice and liaison with banks and other service providers so that a high quality service is provided to all customers.

We are looking for someone with a strong financial background in the public or private sector with good technical knowledge who can also lead, motivate and develop a very busy team deliver core financial services to a variety of service users across all council directorates and schools, working to tight deadlines.

You will need to be able to learn quickly, have good organisational skills and relish solving problems to be successful in this role.
