Location
Stone, Staffordshire
Salary

Closing date

Stone Town Council is a busy local council supporting the town of Stone, Staffordshire.  In addition to operating two community centres, various town markets and a potential new heritage centre, the Council organises a diverse range of events within the town and a number of civic activities.  This year’s town centre events, for example, have included a St George’s day re-enactment, “Stone by the Sea”, a marionette drama workshop, a classic car event, the annual music festival, and the extremely popular Christmas light switch-on evening.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our small, dedicated team to provide support in both marketing Council events and facilities and in organising town centre and civic activities.  The successful candidate is likely to have had experience of producing marketing materials (including on-line marketing), organising events, and dealing with members of the public.

The post is part-time, 16 hours per week.  We would be willing to discuss working patterns in order to meet both the Council’s needs and those of the person appointed, but a flexible overall approach will be needed, particularly in order to attend events which may take place in the evening or at weekends.

Though initially offered on a 12 month fixed-term contract, the Council will review the impact of the post before the end of this period.  This may result in the contract being extended or the post becoming permanent.

Please ring 01785 619740, email clerk@stonetowncouncil.gov.uk or visit the Council’s website at www.stonetowncouncil.gov.uk for further details of the role and information on how to apply.

The closing date for applications is midnight on 22nd September 2019.
