Based at Hindlip Park

A permanent opportunity has arisen in the Operational Policy Department, based at Southwell House, Hindlip Park.

The Person

The post holder will be responsible for assisting managers with administration for Health and Safety, Intel, Fire Control, and development of Operational Policy. This includes maintaining document management procedures, production of reports, updating the department SharePoint site, preparing routine correspondence, and arranging meetings and where necessary taking minutes.

Experience and Knowledge

A recognised word processing qualification

A minimum of 3 GCSE or equivalent (one of which must be English Language)

Experience of working within an administrative capacity

A pragmatic approach to problem solving

Good personal time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines

The ability to display initiative and work without close supervision

The ability to assess the validity and accuracy of information to provide solutions

Experience of producing good quality documentation and correspondence

Ability to use MS-Office and other ICT applications

Experience of using the internet as a research tool

Skills

Computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office products

Good oral and written communication skills at all levels

Excellent skills to research and prepare and proof-read detailed reports

The ability to maintain confidentiality

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for providing day-to-day fire and rescue services across the two counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
