Coventry City Council, Legal Services, are looking to recruit a trainee solicitor to commence a training contract as soon as possible with them. We welcome applications from both a legal and non-legal background, but the successful applicant must have completed and passed the Legal Practice Course ahead of the start date.

If successful, you will undertake a two-year fixed term training contract spending time in the different teams within Legal Services namely, Place, Corporate & Commercial, Regulatory and the Case Management, People and Advocacy Teams. What do we look for in a trainee
It is essential you have either a law degree or a non-law degree plus CPE/GDL. Ideally, you will possess a 2:2 degree or higher but we will nevertheless consider your application if you have achieved or are on course to achieve a commendation, merit or distinction in the CPE/GDL/LPC.
You will need to be enthusiastic, possess a strong desire to learn, have good research and analytical skills, excellent IT and communication skills and have the ability to relate well to others.
