About the Role:
Are you an experienced Building Surveyor or Works Supervisor looking for your next move?
Do you hold a HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline?
Join our team as a Building Surveyor based in central Birmingham.
As a Building Surveyor at West Midlands Police you will join a team of seven surveyors within our Property Services Department. Working under the direction of the Building Works Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of revenue projects on police premises. West Midlands Police has 96 buildings within our portfolio including offices, specialist buildings, garages and police stations.
In this role you will also supervise service and maintenance contractors on a daily basis to ensure service delivery.
You will hold a HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline and also have substantial experience and knowledge of building / service installations.
Due to the nature of the role flexibility in your working hours is essential; you will also be part of a call-out rota.
A full UK Driving Licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
As the ideal candidate you will be enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal skills, be open and flexible in your approach and have a clear ability to deliver appropriate cost effective solutions within defined timeframes. You will be assertive, organised and be able to communicate effectively.
The ideal candidate for the role of Building Surveyor will have:
- HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Substantial experience and knowledge of building / service installations
- Full UK Driving Licence and use of your own vehicle
- Supervisory experience
- Experience of completing reports
- A good level of competency in Microsoft Office packages
- Effective communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience using CAD
