Finham Park 2 is an exciting new co-educational academy in Coventry that opened in September 2015. Already a popular choice with local parents, we have a full cohort of Years 7 to 11 students. Our students are smart, thoughtful, inquisitive, well-behaved and polite; on entry they are significantly above the national average for attainment in English and Mathematics.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a professional and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to provide a complementary service to that provided by teachers and pastoral staff in order to address the needs of pupils, who need help and support to overcome barriers to learning, both inside and outside school, to achieve their full potential. It will involve working with a range of students, but giving priority to those that experience multiple disadvantages.
The role will target, help and support as part of a coordinated response by the school and other agencies to address a range of issues and bring about a positive sustainable changes with individual students and the school community as a whole. The role will also have responsibility for supporting and working with the experienced EWO doing home visits to improving attendance and reducing persistent absence, which will require driving the school minibus after training; therefore, it is essential that applicants must have a clean valid driving licence.
