The Role

The Headteacher and Governing body at St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our team from September.

This position would be perfect for a Teaching Assistant who is looking to work in Key Stage 2 and who is confident leading groups of children and individuals in their learning.

Role is part time for 27.5 hours per week, Term, Time Only.

This is a fixed term contract to support an SEND child who will be at our school until July 2020.


Key Requirements

The position will involve supporting staff in all our classes, but the successful candidate will be predominantly based in one class in Key Stage 2, supporting an SEND child with an EHCP.

They will be leading some intervention groups for vulnerable learners, liaising with the SENDCO and Head teacher and also supporting learning within school.

We are specifically looking for a candidate who has completed at least a Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification or who has committed and applied to begin such a training course in the Autumn term.

The successful candidate will also be required to undertake Midday Supervisor duties which will be covered under a second contract of employment.
