The Role

The governors are seeking to appoint a talented teacher to the post of Deputy Head to help lead the future vision and development of our school. The successful candidate will:-

• Be passionate about wanting the children to fulfil their potential but also be flexible and approachable
• Work with the Head teacher to take a key role in the Leadership and Management of the school.
• Be an excellent teacher with a proven track record of the ability to raise the attainment and progress of all children across all key stages.
• Provide dedicated support for the Head teacher and staff in the strategic life of the school, and have a clear understanding of leadership and accountability
• Be able to have a clear focus on standards and have the ability to maintain and raise them throughout a broad and enriched curriculum.
• Be an exemplary teacher, sharing excellence and expertise in the development of all staff.
• Have a class teaching role with guaranteed leadership and management time to fulfil the role.
• Have proven leadership skills within KS1 education and experience of leading school improvement.
• Have the ability to challenge, motivate and inspire others.
• Have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build positive teams and relationships both within and beyond the school.
• Be responsible for the leadership of a core subject area across the school.

Key Requirements 

• Understanding of the essential qualities, necessary for effective teaching and learning
• An ability to model high quality teaching and learning and support others to improve
• Analyse data to evaluate the performance of pupil groups, pupil progress, identify weaknesses, set targets and plan an appropriate course of action for whole school improvement
• Develop and review whole school systems to ensure robust evaluation of school performance and actions
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Support, motivate and inspire both colleagues and pupils by leading through example
• Ability to build effective working relationships with different professional partners and stakeholders.
