A recently added intervention in the tool kit for Solihull Council, Family Group Conferencing (FCG) is a recognised and highly effective tool for empowering families to take control of the issues they are facing and reduce the need for statutory involvement.

As a Family Group Conferencing Co-ordinator you will prepare and support families through the FCG process as well as contributing to the development and implementation of a family plan.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A level 4 or above qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Children, Young People & Families Practitioner) or substantial experience in a similar role
  • Experience of working with young people who have complex needs and difficulties
  • The ability to establish and build effective working relationships with a range of people
  • A thorough knowledge of issues relating to child protection
  • The ability to work flexibly, including outside of normal office hours, to meet the needs of families
  • Have a driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments will be made for disable applicants where required)
