The Council is seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with the ability to organise a broad and interesting workload efficiently and effectively, you will deal with the full range of Capital Works Projects and Planned Maintenance Contracts.

The Service will be delivering a high-quality customer focused. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.

As a Surveyor you'll provide professional advice on property and construction, ranging from complex capital works contracts to modest adaptations and repairs.

You'll complete detailed reports, known as building surveys; you'll identify defects and advise on repair, maintenance and restoration options. You may implement preventative measures to keep buildings in good condition and look for ways to make buildings sustainable.

The successful candidate should have an understanding of issues relating to building structures, building pathology, feasibility report writing, statutory regulations, and be able to carry out stock condition surveys. A working knowledge and ability to undertake projects in accordance within Building Regulations and delivery of planning applications are also desirable.

It is essential that the post holder of this role understands and manages health and safety, risk and project management, involved to deliver projects.

Experience in producing schemes, feasibilities, specifications, schedule of works and tender documentation are essential. Competent information technology skills, including a variety of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel are also essential.

The successful applicants will ideally be a Member of RICS or equivalent or with extensive experience in a similar role, and a full driving licence and use of a car on a daily basis is essential.
