Job Details

Sandwell's Registration Services provide a number of bereavement related services that offer support to families at what is often a very difficult time in their lives.

One of these services is the provision of wakes, to provide catering and refreshments for families following a funeral service. These are held in the Reception Suite, a purpose-built facility at Sandwell Valley Crematorium.

We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified, enthusiastic Catering Assistant to be a part of a small team in the preparation and serving of food and beverages.

The post holder will carry out a range of duties to include:

  • Food preparation and service, in line with relevant food and hygiene regulations.
  • The sale of beverages to include soft drinks and alcohol.
  • Stock control and procurement.
  • Cash handling and associative administration tasks.
  • The successful candidates should possess:
  • Good communication skills, empathy, and have an understanding approach to meet our customers' needs.

Hours

18.5 hours per week - the hours and days to be worked will be determined by the demands of the service.
