Job Details

This is an unprecedented time for the electoral sector – huge challenges lie ahead in terms of canvass reform and electoral uncertainty, as well as general advances in technology. In that context, the City of Wolverhampton Council, local authority of the year in 2017, is seeking to appoint an experienced and capable electoral services professional to lead our experienced team.

We’re an ambitious organisation: ambitious to deliver quality services for local people; ambitious to raise the expectations and profile of the city; and ambitious to be an organisation that invests in and supports its employees. And we’re looking for somebody who can match our ambition in the leadership of our electoral function.

We’re looking for all the usual things: applied technical knowledge, backed up by an AEA qualification; management experience; flexibility; customer care and project management skills.

But, more than that, we’re looking for someone who can take us to the next level; someone who can see opportunities to streamline the service, particularly through the application of ICT solutions; someone who can identify innovative ways to improve registration; someone who will share our passion and vision for Wolverhampton.

If you would like an informal conversation about the role, please contact Martyn Sargeant, Head of Governance, on 01902 555045.

Interviews to be held on Wednesday 6th November 2019
