St Peter’s CE Academy, Alton is proud to be part of Staffordshire University Academies Trust. Our Local Academy Council are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Senior Play Worker for our popular out of hours club for the afternoon session only.
The successful applicant will be responsible to the Play Leader. We are looking to appoint someone who is committed to achieving high standards and will work closely with colleagues as part of a friendly and supportive team. The successful applicant will be required to:
• Help with planning a range of activities suitable for all the children taking account of their interests and abilities
• Help to prepare and provide nutritional snacks for the children
• Provide a facility for children to do their homework
• Ensure the welfare and safety of the children
• Promote good behaviour within the group
• Liaise professionally with parents
Ideally the successful candidate should have:
• NVQ3 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline
• Experience of working with children of relevant age
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Good understanding of principles of child development and learning processes, in
particular, barriers to learning
• Good organising and planning skills
