To progress the council’s delivery plan to improve commissioning and procurement, we are seeking a driven procurement professional, who has the passion and determination to deliver the best for our customers and the organisation. Managing tenders of various scale and complexity and providing best practice advice and guidance to stakeholders of various levels within the organisation; the successful individual will be a good communicator ensuring the consistent implementation of procurement practices that deliver value for money.
This position has a natural path for progression towards various procurement, commissioning and supply chain management roles and could be an ideal move for candidates aspiring to develop and progress in this area.
Your new role
As the Procurement Officer, you will join a supportive and established team. You will be expected to lead on procurement projects, call off frameworks and provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on Public Sector procurement regulations and the council's own contracting policies and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
Knowledge of PCR 2015 will be essential, as is previous experience within public sector procurement. This role is heavily focused on development and improvement, so strong communication and planning skills, a positive attitude and a passion to develop within procurement are all highly valued attributes.
