Salary: £23,719 - £29,406 per annum
A vacancy has arisen for a newly-qualified or experienced Teacher of Science at this highly successful school.
We require a well-qualified teacher of Science, who is committed to the highest standards of academic achievement and able to teach Science to at least GCSE Level. Although the preference is for a Chemistry specialist, applications would be welcomed from Physicists or Biologists.
This will be a fixed-term contract from 4th November 2019 – 31st May 2020, which is linked to a maternity absence due to commence in November. Applications will be welcomed from experienced or newly qualified teachers. Although being advertised as a full-time position, part-time (0.6-1.0) would be considered.
This post provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to work in a large and high-performing department with supportive & caring colleagues, as well as the option to have involvement in a wide range of STEM and other extra-curricular activities. Our Science Department has recently benefited from a £1.2m refurbishment and modernisation programme, meaning that lessons are taught in light and airy state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms.
Prince Henry’s is a popular and over-subscribed 13-18 High School with approximately 1,300 on roll including more than 330 in one of Worcestershire’s largest Sixth Forms. The school enjoys an excellent reputation locally and has consistently been judged outstanding by Ofsted, most recently in May 2013. Two Ofsted Survey inspections undertaken during 2014 looking at provision for the most able students, and also for alternative curriculum provision both praised the school’s ethos and its ability to deliver excellent teaching and learning to students of all abilities.
In May 2014, the school was awarded National Teaching School Status and, having been accredited with SCITT status in summer 2016, accepted its first trainees in September 2017.
