Commencement Date: 14th October 2019 (or as soon as possible after this date)
Hours: 10 hrs per week – equivalent to 2 hours per day/whole year
The Governors are looking to appoint a new janitor to join our school team. The successful candidate should be a practical, reliable and trustworthy person who will have responsibility for the security of the school buildings and grounds. The janitor is also responsible for ensuring that the premises are maintained to a high standard and meet health and safety requirements.
This will involve undertaking daily refuse removal duties, non-regulated maintenance and repairs, checking and maintaining the school’s outdoor areas, monitoring the work of the cleaning staff, winter boiler checks, identifying any health and safety issues and communicating with other members of staff/contractors on site with regard to any issues.
You should be well-motivated and capable of working unsupervised under your own initiative. Previous experience of working in a school or similar environment is desirable but training can be provided.

The normal place of work would be Christ Church First School. This Academy is part of ‘The Key Educational Trust’ and the Trust reserves the right to deploy the successful candidate to work at any other Academy within the Trust.
