About the team

The Transport Implementation department is a team of transport professionals who oversee and support the effective delivery of the TfWM project & programme portfolio. Having experience of major complex infrastructure project and programmes is a key aspect in being able to advise all levels of management in the delivery of schemes such as HS2 Connectivity, Metro extensions, Sprint schemes as well as other funded transport schemes across the TfWM portfolio.

Being a newly formed department, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future shape, structure and direction of this team.

Who we need

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Control and Assurance Manager within our newly formed Transport Implementation team.

As a key member of the team, you’ll use your knowledge and experience to provide high quality assurance and support to the successful delivery of a transport portfolio that includes Metro, Sprint (our rapid bus transit programme), Rail and HS2 connectivity projects.

You’ll be experienced in working at Board and Executive level, and will have a proven track record in successfully managing the reporting relationships for complex programmes, so it is essential that you have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and be able to liaise with key stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation. 

In addition, you will be highly analytical, using a logical approach to develop robust assurance processes that facilitate effective delivery of the programme, aligned with our overall assurance frameworks.

You will hold a relevant qualification or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and/or have experience in developing and managing the assurance and controls of a major programme, within a fast paced and complex environment.
