Teacher of A Level Psychology - Maternity Cover (FTE 0.4)

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of A-Level Psychology who is keen to support and enable students to achieve in the Aylesford School Sixth Form.

A-level Psychology is a popular subject at Aylesford School and Sixth Form College with students of all abilities. Last year 90% of Psychology students achieved grades A-C and 100% grades A-D, with many students choosing to continue to study psychology further at University. A-level Psychology is currently taught over 8 lessons a fortnight with KS5 Students following the 2-year AQA A-Level Psychology specification.

The role will involve teaching of A Level in Year 12 and 13, which equates to 16 teaching periods (hours) per fortnight. The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification and have had prior experience / knowledge of Psychology at A-Level standard. A teaching qualification is desirable although not essential for this post.

The maternity of the substantive post holder is likely to start in January 2020 and continue until at least October half term 2020.

The teacher works flexibly 16 hours per fortnight over 4 days with Wednesdays as a full day off.
