39 term time working weeks, Sept to August, plus 7.5 paid holiday weeks

Salary: £28,553.54 - 30,786.05 FTE, pro rata to weeks worked
Hourly rate - £14.8001 - £15.9572

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Independence and Learning Support (ILS) Manager. A good team player with excellent communication skills, the post holder will lead and manage a flexible and responsive team and have overall responsibility for;
- The implementation of teaching, learning and assessment support strategies for individual learner, evaluating their success and making modifications where necessary.
- Liaising with teachers and Pathway Leaders to ensure an effective response to EHCPs and initial diagnostic reports, to allocate ILS support effectively.
- The management and supervision of an Independence and Learning Support team who have joint educational and care responsibilities.
- Developing innovative approaches to curriculum and service delivery
- Working in close partnership with Pathway Leaders and other departments to provide a person-centred learning experience.
- Providing a coherent and integrated support structure in the classroom, which meets the needs of individual learners.
- Acting as a role model for learners to reinforce appropriate communication and social skills.
- Assisting, guiding and encouraging learners to be as independent as possible.
It is essential that you hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification or willingness to work toward; have supervisory and/or managerial experience in an education setting, have experience of working with young people with Autism and complex physical, communication and learning needs and have evidence of continuous professional development.
A level 2 qualification (GCSE Grade A – C) or equivalent in English and maths (or demonstration that you are operating at level 2 in both subjects) is essential.
