About the roles

A fantastic opportunity is now available for full time child focused Senior Social Workers to join our Independent Fostering Agency here at Sandwell Children’s Trust!

We have vacancies within our Fostering Assessment team where you will be responsible for the assessment of foster carers and also vacancies for Supervising Social workers where you will support and supervise foster carers.

We are looking for enthusiastic, talented Social Workers who have experience of working within a fostering team or who have a good level of experience of working within child protection teams who are ready to make a move in to a Fostering role.

We are passionate about improving outcomes for the children of Sandwell and want our social workers to be committed in supporting us to becoming a “Good” rated Fostering Agency.

About you

You will understand the needs of looked after children and have a passion for family placements for children in care. You will be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of safeguarding, fostering services and related agendas, practice and policies, as well as thorough knowledge of all associated legislation.

The ability to remain organised, formulate and maintain accurate plans, reports and records and the ability to meet deadlines is essential. Occasional working of anti-social hours, including weekends, will be required. Most importantly you will be child focused and have be able to demonstrate this throughout your career.
