Sutton is a purpose built day school for pupils aged 11-16 whose educational needs cannot adequately be met in mainstream schools. The school caters for approximately 150 pupils with a range of needs including social, emotional, communication and specific learning difficulties.

Our vision is to provide every member of the school community with the opportunity to achieve his or her true potential and ambitions through a broad, balanced curriculum matched to their individual needs including full entitlement to the National Curriculum.

Term Time only - 39 Weeks per year

To work under the guidance of teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom including the provision of detailed and specialist skills/knowledge in particular areas. To assist the teacher in the whole planning cycle and supervise whole classes or groups during the short term absence of a teacher.

One of the available roles will involve delivering construction, physical and practical activities in an indoor and outdoor environment. Whilst experience of construction is not essential it would be beneficial.

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.

Demonstrable experience of working with or caring with children of a relevant age and experience of supporting teaching staff in the development and education of pupils.
